September has arrived, and with it the next, 14th edition of the Jasło Children’s University. Lots of interesting scientific workshops will be waiting for the youngest residents of Jasło. Recruitment for the new academic year 2023/24 will begin this coming Monday (September 18). Classes will be held at the GEN Science Generator in Jasło.
The idea of the Jasielsk Children’s University is to widely popularize science among children aged 6 to 8. It is worth mentioning that this project has been very popular for more than a decade. This is not surprising. Classes in which the youngest residents of Jasło take part are a kind of ticket to the fascinating world of science. The inauguration of the new academic year, which consists of two semesters, will take place in less than three weeks (September 30). At that time the little students will take the oath and receive their indexes.
The real adventure in science, children, will begin a week later (October 7). That’s when the first JUD science workshops will be held. The topics of the classes will be related to various fields of science, including: mathematical and natural sciences (mathematics, physics, astronomy, biology, chemistry), humanities, arts, technology (robotics, mechatronics) and new technologies. Classes will be held on Saturdays. A detailed schedule will soon be available on the Generator website.
One thing is certain, the workshops are sure to meet the expectations of even the most demanding students. There will be no shortage of classes in DIY, robotics and the basics of robot programming, or natural science. In turn, researchers from the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences – GEN’s partner – will invite to the world of unusual physical phenomena. The fast approaching new academic year thus promises to be very promising.
Enrollment in the Jasielsk Children’s University will be conducted exclusively through online applications. The application form will be available at www.genjaslo.pl. Enrollment will begin next Monday (September 18) at 9:00 a.m. It will last until September 24 (midnight).
There is a limit on the number of places in JUD recruitment (75 people). It is also worth mentioning that priority in admission is given to those children who have not previously participated in classes organized as part of the Jasielsk Children’s University. The order of applications is decisive.
Jasielski Children’s University, is a task implemented by the City of Jasło from the funds of the project “Jasło – my city, my home” in the framework of the project: “Jasło – City of Knowledge”, financed from the funds of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget.
