On Saturday (September 16), 16 Jasło settlements competed in sports competitions and artistic shows. This was the first picnic of its kind, which brought together representatives from: Brył, Brzyszczek, Gamratu, Gądek, Górki Klasztornej, Hankówki, Kaczorowy, Kopernika, Krajowic, Mickiewicza, Niegłowic, Rafinerii, Sobniowa, Śródmieścia, Ulaszowic i Żółkowa.
Although there was a sporting rivalry between settlements and everyone gave their best to win successive competitions, in the final classification all settlements were equally rewarded. Meetings and joint discussions, as well as time spent on prepared attractions (free inflatables, face painting, refreshments) meant that the goal of the picnic was achieved – building integration, a sense of community and strengthening local identity.
We are glad that we saw smiling faces everywhere, and there were requests from everywhere that this kind of event would necessarily become a permanent part of the Jasielsk events calendar.
The organizer of the picnic was the city of Jasło, while the implementer was Jasielski Cultural Center. The picnic is part of the “City is I” project implemented within the framework of the “Jasło – my city, my home” project, and financed by funds from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget.
