Enrollment launched for intergenerational creative workshop on making a family tree

There is nothing more important than family. But how often do we recall our ancestors in our minds? Too rarely, it seems. Meanwhile, the search for one’s roots can prove to be a fascinating activity, especially from the point of view of the youngest family members. That’s why we decided to invite Jasło residents to participate in an intergenerational workshop on creating a family tree. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen family ties between a child and a parent, grandmother or grandfather.

The classes, during which children and their adult caregivers will create family trees of their own families, are intended to serve at least several purposes. First, the youngest residents of Jaslo (5-12 years old) will learn what genealogy is, what is meant by the concepts of kinship and affinity, and how a family tree is created. Secondly, participation in the workshop will be an opportunity for children to learn about the history of their own family and listen to stories about its members who died years ago. To create a family tree, workshop participants, will be able to use archival photographs from the family album.

The workshop will be held on January 13, 2024 at the GEN Science Generator in Jasło (2 Bednarska St.) from 10.00 to 11.30 a.m. and from 12.00 to 13.30 p.m. Registration will last until January 5, 2024. Please note that the number of places is limited (40 participants in total). Participation in the workshop will be determined by the order of registration.
