On February 19 (Monday) we will celebrate Polish Science Day. With all science lovers in mind, including elementary and secondary school students, we have prepared an interesting offer of scientific lectures and workshops. This coming Monday, GEN will be visited, among others, by Dr. Dawid Mysliwiec, creator of the popular YouTube popular science channel “Attention! Scientific Babble”. Admission to the event is free.
Polish Science Day was established with the aim of popularizing science among the young residents of our country. On February 19, events are organized throughout Poland to inspire children and young people to follow in the footsteps of Polish researchers and scientists. The GEN Science Generator has also decided to join in this year’s celebration of Polish Science Day. This coming Monday, a lot of scientific attractions will be waiting for knowledge-hungry science lovers at GEN. Together with exceptional speakers, we will take you to the fascinating world of microorganisms.

We will start with a lecture by Dr. David Mysliwiec. The popular youtuber, creator of the channel “Attention! Science Babble” will try to find an answer to the question, what would happen if we killed all bacteria? The lecture will start on time at 10 am.

After a break of several minutes, Dr. Karolina Furtak from the Department of Agricultural Microbiology at the Institute of Fertilization and Soil Science – National Research Institute in Puławy will deliver her lecture. The scientist will try to resolve whether ubiquitous microorganisms are our allies or enemies.
The event’s program will also include scientific demonstrations and presentations. Students from Elementary School No. 2 in Jasło, who are participating in the second edition of the Exchange of GENIAL Ideas for Jasło, will present interesting experiments and scientific experiments concerning two fields of science: chemistry and biology. The demonstrations prepared by the research teams will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 and from 11:00 to 12:00.

We have prepared science workshops for the youngest science fans. Children aged 7-10 are invited to have fun with science in the Little Scientist’s Laboratory.
