70 elementary and high school students living in Jasło, forming teams of 4-6 people, have begun working on their research projects. In total, they will deal with 14 issues related to Jasło.

Your projects will be carried out in a unique place, which certainly helps research activities, because it is equipped with creative studios, scientific expositions or a mediatheque. I am very happy that secondary school students are also participating in this project, because in this way the range of topics important for schoolchildren is being broadened,” said Ryszard Pabian, mayor of Jasło, during the launch.

The youth, under the supervision of 12 teachers/guardians, will be tasked with preparing interesting projects about Jaslo, and later publicly present their results before an expert competition committee. For the best projects, youth teams and their guardians will receive attractive prizes.

Guests at the inauguration, in addition to members of the research teams, guardians, parents or school principals, were Dr. Krzysztof Gluc, who has been cooperating with Jaslo for years on the implementation of the Jaslo City of Knowledge program, and Aleksandra Dacyl – an external expert, providing substantive support to teachers and guardians participating in the project. Krzysztof Głuc touched on the question “Why be smart?”, and Aleksandra Dacyl introduced the idea of the contest to the assembled, and discussed the research problems dealt with by young researchers.

The Project Teams will, among other things: encourage Yaslan residents to take walks along attractive routes, convince them to actively practice music, help them communicate with the disabled, research musical life in Yaslan at the turn of the 20th/XXI century, construct a mascot of the Science Generator, teach Yaslan residents to use herbal medicine, or show the charms of listening to the radio.

The GGP’s task is implemented within the framework of the project: “Jasło – City of Knowledge” carried out within the framework of the project financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget titled “Jasło – my city, my home”.
