Any opportunity is a good one to develop in children competencies and skills that will allow them to learn more easily and effectively. An excellent example is the Speed Reading Course for elementary school students, which is implemented by GEN Learning Generator. The first workshop with students in grades IV-VIII was held on January 25 this year.

The Speed Reading Course is addressed to young residents of Jasło who want to read faster and with understanding, as well as comprehensive intellectual development. The classes are held at the GEN Learning Generator in Jaslo. Children and young people, during the workshops, practice creative and logical thinking, efficient association and train memory.

Participants of the course, thanks to learning speed reading acquire versatile skills. Participation in the course does not fail to influence the effectiveness and speed of language learning. It also allows easier memorization of dates, vocabulary, definitions and concepts, which is of considerable importance in the context of school learning. Children and teenagers who have completed the speed reading course perform better in tests and exams.

It is worth mentioning that the Speed Reading Course uses methods that work well for students who have problems with concentration, reading, or memorization. The course is also aimed at children and teenagers who are suspected or have been diagnosed with dyslexia or developmental dyslexia.
The next classes of the Rapid Reading Course at GEN will be held as early as next week (February 15 this year). In the meantime, we still have a few vacancies. Information on supplementary recruitment for the course will be published on our website.

The Speed Reading Course for elementary school students is a task implemented by the City of Jasło with funds from the project “Jasło – my city, my home” in the framework of the project: “Jasło City of Knowledge”, funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget.
