Environmental campaign for environmental protection with the Association of Municipalities of the Vistula River Basin – non-investment part

The theoretical and practical workshops on environmental education, organized by the Union of Municipalities of the Wisłoka River Basin, took place on April 8-10, 2024, aimed at residents of the City of Jasło from kindergarten children to adults.

The workshops were carried out within the framework of the Undertaking entitled “Ecological Campaign for Environmental Protection with the Union of Municipalities of the Wisłoka River Basin – non-investment part”, implemented within the framework of the Project “Jasło – my city, my home”, subsidized from the funds of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget.

The theoretical and practical workshops were educational and informative, and aimed at raising environmental awareness among children, youth, adults, including entrepreneurs, officials, teachers.

Education among the City’s youngest residents is expected to influence the formation of correct attitudes related to environmental protection, expand natural knowledge and create habits of ecological lifestyles.

Education among young people and adults is supposed to awaken a sense of responsibility towards the surrounding nature, draw attention to environmental threats and inspire appropriate consumer choices.

The irrational use of environmental resources is currently leading to many dangerous disasters and environmental catastrophes. It is therefore indispensable to spread environmental education, which can guarantee respect for the natural environment and rational management of its resources.

A total of 10 workshops were held for more than 500 residents of the City of Jasło.

The following were trained at the Municipal School Complex No. 1: preschoolers, who actively participated in workshops on selective waste collection, the youngest residents of the City of Jaslo learned through games and ecological games with the use of, among others. educational mats, educational boards, board games, students of classes I-III, who in the theoretical workshops learned about the topic of rational waste management, and in the practical workshops on selective waste collection created a bird feeder, students of classes IV – VII, who in the theoretical workshops learned about the issue of air pollution, and then created a forest in a jar.

At the Building School Complex in Jasło, students in the theoretical part became familiar with the issues of adaptation to climate change and prevention of climate change, and in the practical part they participated in an interactive demonstration with conducting natural experiments, where young people actively participated in conducting experiments under the supervision of an instructor.
