The City of Jasło has officially launched the “Let’s grow Jaslo” project, for which the local government has secured nearly PLN 80 million in funding from the Swiss Funds. The opening event took place on Monday, March 30, at the Generator Nauki GEN in Jasło. During the inauguration, the planned measures were presented, including key investments for the development of the city, which will have a tangible impact on improving the quality of life of its residents.
Jasło is one of 19 Polish cities that have received funding under the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme (the so-called Swiss Funds). The programme provides financial support to selected European Union member states in order to reduce social and economic disparities within the community. The “Let’s grow Jaslo” project ranked highly, placing fifth on the programme’s ranking list.
Among the participants of the opening event were Cliff Hammer – representative of the Embassy of Switzerland in Poland, Jan Szyszko – Secretary of State at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Development, as well as representatives of the Association of Polish Cities, which serves as an advisory and supporting institution for the implementation of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme. The auditorium of the Generator Nauki GEN also hosted project partners – the Wisłoka River Basin Municipal Association and the Jasło County.
The highlight of Monday’s event was a speech by Adam Kostrząb, Mayor of the City of Jasło, who presented the main objectives of the “Let’s grow Jaslo” project and outlined eight project components, including investments that will bring concrete benefits to the residents of the city.
