Implementation of the Jasło – City of Knowledge program
Implementer: City of Jasło
The programme Jasło – The City of Knowledge assumes implementation of a number of actions that will allow to improve the quality of education, broaden the offer of education and training and develop the competencies of the city’s residents.
The activities will be concentrated around the newly established Centre of Technology, Culture and Entrepreneurship (CTKiP), which will become the “heart”/place gathering citizens of Jasło at different ages, of different professions, united by a desire to develop their competences, hunger for knowledge and readiness to change Jasło.
Activities implemented in the framework of the programme Jasło – The City of Knowledge:
- Jasło Scientific League – realization of research projects (individual and group) by children and youth using laboratories located in CTKiP;
- Jasielski Children’s University – realization of activities stimulating children’s interests;
- University of the Third Age – realization of plenary classes in a lecture formula and workshops and practical classes in smaller groups, especially in the area of computer classes, sports and recreation, scientific laboratories;
- I. Łukasiewicz Scientific Society in Jaslo – establishing non-governmental organization that supports scientific activity of Jaslo residents, popularizing scientific achievements of citizens of Jaslo. Forms of activity: regular guest lectures, meetings with scientists, competitions, supporting educational and scientific events in Jaslo, organization of Jaslo Science Days.;
- Jasło Training Voucher;
- Implementation of a support program for the improvement of professional skills of citizens of Jaslo aged 18-65 years, who want to expand their knowledge and competencies through training and study.
Creation of an activity support center for non-governmental organizations
Implementer: City of Jasło
Non-governmental organizations from Jaslo, which do not have space for meetings, conducting their activities and storing documents etc., will be able to use specially dedicated for them rooms located in the Center for Technology, Culture and Entrepreneurship.
Within the Center, non-governmental organizations will be able to receive assistance in their activities in the third sector (social economy, volunteerism, NGO’s establishment).
The scope of support includes: tax consulting, specialized consulting according to the NGO’s needs (e.g., support for a lawyer, promotion specialist, fundraising specialist, public procurement, e-marketing, public speaking specialist, IT specialist – creating websites and their maintenance; etc.). trainings, study tours (building local and supralocal partnerships, NGO’s networking, good practices, etc.).
Active Senior Citizen Centre – investment and non-investment part
Implementer: City of Jasło
The new Center for Active Senior Citizens will be designed for professionally inactive people aged 60 and over, who are particularly vulnerable to social exclusion. The stay in the Center will be free of charge.
As part of the investment, rooms intended for the Center will be adapted/renovated. Activities within the Active Senior Center will be aimed at:
- improving the quality of life for seniors in the local community, meeting new people and developing interests,
- To provide seniors with support and assistance appropriate to their needs and abilities based on age and health status, including specialized support,
- integration and social activation of senior citizens, including the development of self-help activities,
- Increase seniors’ community involvement and volunteerism.
The Active Senior Center will provide integration and activation activities of educational, health-promoting, cultural, recreational nature, etc., depending on the needs identified in the local environment.
The City is Me
Implementer: City of Jaslo
Aim: to arouse attachment to the city among residents, strengthening local identity and involvement in urban life. The project will organize:
- meetings of the Three Generations and workshops with residents (including motivational sessions)
- street themed actions;
- mini estate Olympics / estate tournament;
- Flashmob – with residents participating, learning how to dance and choreograph;
- “To the Springs” – traditional singing workshops.
We go in Jaslo
Implementer: City of Jaslo
Goal: Invite residents to engage in discussions about shared urban space and visions for its development in the coming years. Activities:
- “Citizen Cafés” to engage residents in active cooperation aimed at city development. The undertaking is planned to be realized twice a year during the main city events – Jaslo Days, Wine Days.
- creative workshops conducted with the method of common designing of solutions which can be applied in the city (social consultations i.a. with the use of graphic recording technique – i.e. the engagement of a draughtsman who immediately presents visions and ideas suggested by the participants of the meeting).
