Discover Switzerland and the Swiss Funds in Jasło on Chocolate Day

Switzerland is associated with punctuality, diversity, the beauty of Alpine landscapes and… excellent chocolate. In just a few days, during Chocolate Day in Jasło, which is celebrated annually on April 12, you will not only be able to taste chocolate specialties, but also learn how the Swiss Funds are transforming Jasło. The program will include, among others, chocolate workshops, activities for children, and a family film screening.

Sunday’s event will be a real treat not only for chocolate lovers – both children and adults. Chocolate Day at the Jasło Cultural Centre will also be a great opportunity to learn about the history of Switzerland – considered the European capital of chocolate – as well as Swiss customs and the lifestyle of the inhabitants of this multicultural and multilingual country.

The main highlight of Sunday’s program will be chocolate workshops combined with tasting chocolate delicacies. The first workshop will start at 2:00 PM. In total, four workshops will take place during the Sunday afternoon, where participants will learn how chocolate is made – from “bean” to “bar” – and will also have the chance to try pouring and decorating chocolate bars themselves.

The Chocolate Day program also includes:

  • activities for children prepared by the Municipal Public Library,
  • promotional stands of the “Let’s grow Jaslo” project,
  • a quiz “What do you know about Switzerland?”,
  • “Polish emigration in Switzerland” – a lecture by the Regional Museum in Jasło,
  • “Family travels in Switzerland – a story about cheeses, celebrity cows and punctual trains” – an author meeting with Olga Dyrda, writer and blogger focused on Switzerland,
  • a screening of the family film Wonka, directed by Paul King.

Admission to the event is free. For chocolate workshops, the number of places is limited.

The Sunday event is organized as part of the “Let’s grow Jaslo” project, implemented under the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme. It will therefore be an excellent opportunity for residents to learn more about the investments and other project activities that are just beginning.

As a reminder, the project includes a number of important initiatives for the city and its residents, such as the construction of a railway station, the development of a modern sewage sludge biocomposting facility, and the modernization of the specialist outpatient clinic building on Chopina Street in Jasło. The project also includes activities aimed at improving the situation of young people on the local labor market and supporting local businesses.

The “Let’s grow Jaslo” project is co-financed by the Swiss Funds supporting the reduction of economic and social disparities in the European Union, as well as by the state budget.

We warmly invite you to take part in the event, which will take place this Sunday at the Jasło Cultural Centre.
