Work is underway on the building of the so-called “little four,” at 8a Kopernika Street in Jasło. An Active Senior Center, a scout troop, and a renovated Branch No. 2 of the Municipal Public Library in Jasło are being built there.
The adaptation of the building into an Active Senior Center is an extremely important step in creating a friendly and active environment for seniors in the city. The space will also be a place where seniors will find support in leading an active lifestyle and maintaining their mental and physical health through a variety of sports, recreational and cultural activities. Meanwhile, through organized thematic workshops and educational activities, the oldest residents will gain new opportunities in this building to spend time, develop their passions and interests.
The remodeled building will also be the headquarters of Branch No. 2 of the Jasło library
As a result, the current branch space will expand by more than 400 sqm and gain new functionality and equipment. Inside there will be a spacious lobby, a lending library for adults, a lending library for children along with an educational space, a computer lab and a room for active work with seniors, a conference room, as well as a collection storage room and an establishment archive. An asset will be the creation of a place for young people, i.e. a comfortably equipped room, providing freedom and facilities for creative activities.
Reconstruction and expansion of the building on Kopernika Street for the needs of Branch No. 2 of the Jasło Municipal Public Library is being implemented under the National Reading Development Program 2.0, Priority 2, Intervention Direction 2.1. “Library Infrastructure 2021-2025”. Meanwhile, the adaptation of the building to the Active Senior Center is being implemented under the project “Jasło – my city, my home”, financed from the funds of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget.
