A Modern and Functional Railway Station Will Be Built in Jasło

712

The construction of a new railway station is one of the key investment priorities in our city. Residents of Jasło have been waiting for many years for a project that will result in the creation of a modern, functional, accessible facility adapted to the needs of travellers. Moreover, the aesthetics of the urban space surrounding the Jasło railway station will change significantly. Thanks to the “Let’s grow Jaslo!” project, co-financed by the Swiss Funds, the construction of the Transport Centre in Jasło, including the new railway station, will begin in the second half of 2026.

The construction of the Transport Centre is of key importance for improving the transport accessibility of Jasło. The main objective of the project is to create a modern multimodal interchange hub.

As part of the project, a new railway station building will be constructed. Jasło will gain a facility designed to meet the standards of the 21st century. The current unused railway station building will be demolished. The planned station building will have an area of approximately 260 square metres. The building will include a waiting room, toilets, and electronic train arrival and departure boards. Plans also include an exhibition dedicated to the history of railways and an interactive tourist information point. The facility will be fully accessible for persons with disabilities.

However, this is not all. The “Let’s grow Jaslo!” project also includes the redevelopment of the area surrounding the new station. On the eastern side, between the station building and General Józef Haller Roundabout, approximately 50 parking spaces will be created, including 5 spaces for persons with disabilities. An electric vehicle charging station will also be installed in the car park.

The Transport Centre, the construction of which is one of the eight measures planned as part of the “Let’s grow Jaslo!” project, is an investment that forms part of the city’s broader development plans. Complementing the construction of the Transport Centre, including the railway station, will be the comprehensive redevelopment of the area stretching from General Józef Haller Roundabout to the intersection of Metzgera Street and 3 Maja Street.

The City of Jasło plans to demolish the buildings located on Metzgera Street (on the railway station side), which currently house commercial and service premises. Among other things, a bus depot with six covered bays will be built in their place. On the western side, approximately 30 additional parking spaces and a public square with a display area for a historic locomotive will also be created.

The construction of the Transport Centre is being implemented as part of the “Let’s grow Jaslo!” project, co-financed by the Swiss Funds supporting the reduction of economic and social disparities within the European Union and by the state budget.
